The ruins of the ancient city of Nora are located on the Capo di Pula promontory overawed by the Tower of Coltellazzo, build by the Spaniards in 1500.
The first settlement was founded by the Phoenicians in the VIII century b.C. The city flourished for about 1500 years: after the Phoenician came the Carhtaginians and then the Romans.
Phoenician ruins includes houses and shrines, as the temple dedicated to the goddess Tanit, and also a necropolis partially preserved.
Roman area includes a thermal complexes with mosaics, the forum, a splendid theater, a market, temples and homes, among which stands out for its beautiful polychrome mosaics, "the house dell'atrio tetrastilo."
